Kids writing workshop with Jennifer Mook-Sang
This is one in a series of five Burlington Literary Festival writing workshops for children 8-12 led by popular Burlington children's authors.
You started your story and sent your characters on an amazing adventure. The mystery is just about solved, the quest is nearly complete—now what?! How are you going to end this thing? How can you wrap up your story and tie it with a bow?
In this workshop, children's author Jennifer Mook-Sang shares her recipe for the secret sauce of satisfying endings. Learn how to finish strong with an ending that satisfies your reader, your characters, and you! And see how working backwards from an awesome ending can help you stir even more excitement into your story. Come write with Jennifer and see what fun you can cook up!
Funding has been provided in part by the Burlington Arts and Culture Fund.
Jennifer Mook-Sang was born in Guyana and moved to Canada at the age of 14. She is the author of the best-selling middle grade novel Speechless (Scholastic) and picture books Captain Monty Takes the Plunge (Kids Can Press) and The Care and Keeping of Grandmas (Tundra/Penguin Random House). When not writing, Jennifer likes to read recipe books and make things like pepperpot, biryani, and cassava pone. She can also twist a sweet balloon animal.
