Kids writing workshop with Lana Button
This is one in a series of five Burlington Literary Festival writing workshops for children 8-12 led by popular Burlington children's authors.
Join children’s author Lana Button in this fun and interactive writing workshop for kids.
We'll snap, clap, and create lots of rocking rhythm to get our brains ready for rhyming. And then we explore Button's rhyming picture book, Raj’s Rule (for the Bathroom at School) and get inspired to create our own verses.
Bring your favourite writing tools and paper, and have fun exploring writing in rhyme!
Funding has been provided in part by the Burlington Arts and Culture Fund.
Lana Button has eleven published picture books, including her latest rhyming books, The Cow Said, BOO! (Pajama Press) and Stay my Baby (Orca) Her books have been shortlisted for The Blue Spruce, The Shining Willow, the Jean Throop IODE Award and the Rainforest of Reading, and have been recognized as Canadian Children’s Book Centre’s Best Bets, the IBBY Outstanding Book for Young Children and the winner of the SCBWI’s Crystal Kite Award.
